New State High School, located on the Palm Avenue axis of Mushin, provides a disciplined, supportive learning environment for JSS1–SSS3. We blend strong academics with values, leadership and community service.

Our History

Founded in January 1969 by Reverend E.A. Atilade (later Archbishop E.A. Atilade) of blessed memory, New State High School was created to expand access to quality education for families of humble means in Mushin and beyond. That founding vision still guides us today. Read more on our history here.

Academics

    1. Curriculum: Nigerian Basic/Secondary Curriculum (JSS & SSS) aligned to WAEC/NECO.
    2. Core subjects: English, Mathematics, Computer Science, Basic Technology, Basic Science, Basic Studies, Agricultural Science, Civic Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Literature, Economics, Financial Accounting, Commerce.
    3. Assessment: Continuous assessment each term, two tests, a term exam; intensive BECE prep in JSS 3, WAEC prep in SSS 3 with past-question drills and CBT practice via our Online School.
    4. Guidance: Subject selection counseling for WAEC/UTME and career pathways.
