Curriculum
A primary school curriculum is designed to provide a foundational education for young learners from ages 4 to 12. It consists of core subjects such as Mathematics, English Language, Science and Social studies, and others. The curriculum aims to develop fundamental skills like Reading, Writing and Basic Numeracy while developing critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Furthermore, Social studies incorporates local history and traditions.
In addition to pure academic subjects, other subjects like Creative Arts, Physical Education and Music are taught to promote creativity and overall development. At New State Nursery & Primary School, we also engage our learners in co-curricular activities like Quizzes, Spelling competitions, Current affairs, Mental Math e.t.c on Fridays.
There are other various ways of assessing our learners, our focus is not only on academic achievements but also on the growth of the learners socially and emotionally, as it plays a crucial role in shaping a strong educational foundation, and preparing learners for the challenges of higher education later in life.
Environment
New State Nursery & Primary School’s environment consists of 7 classrooms, a creche, the Headmaster’s office, hallways, and a hall (Ajoke Alakeji Hall). We have the following classes:
❖ Creche (Ages 0 – 1)
❖ Kindergarten (KG) 1 & 2 (Ages 1 – 3)
❖ Nursery 1 & 2 (Ages 4 – 6)
❖ Basic 1-5 (Ages 7 – 11)
There is also a sports and playing area with equipment for our learners to engage in various team sports and activities, guided by a teacher, and to also socialize during break time. The atmosphere is focused on educational activities fostering growth and providing a structured space for academic and personal development of the total child.






Co-curricular Activities
Co-curricular activities are the activities we do outside the regular academic curriculum that compliment a student’s educational experience.
Activities include: Sports, Clubs, Chess & Scrabble, Arts & Crafts, Debate, Community service

Teachers
Teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of learners by imparting knowledge and nurturing the development of essential skills. Their influence extends beyond academics, impacting the personal and intellectual growth of every child.
At New State Nursery & Primary School, our teachers combine subject expertise with a genuine passion for cultivating curiosity and critical thinking. They serve as mentors, guiding learners through challenges and helping them develop life skills and values that prepare them not just for academic success, but for life beyond the classroom.

Many of our graduands proudly continue their education at New State High School, building on the strong foundation laid at the Nursery & Primary level.
