It’s a great satisfaction to be part of ‘23 set. From the day I walked through the gates of this school, I knew it was a special place. I felt a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose. I knew that this was a place where I could become the person I was meant to be.
Over the years, this school has shaped me into today. I was quite shy and unsure of myself that the first day. However, through the support of the teachers and my classmates I began to find my voice and my confidence grew. I learned to express myself through writing and public speaking. I began to see myself as a leader and a role model to others. I’ve met people from all walks of life and learned to appreciate our differences. These friendships have helped me to develop a greater understanding of the world and my place in it. This school has provided me with world-class education, preparing me for the challenges of colleges and beyond. The teachers here have challenged me to think critically and to push myself beyond my comfort zone.
As the head girl of the school, I’ve had the privilege of representing the student body and working with the administration to make the school a better place. I’ve gained valuable leadership experience and learned the importance of collaboration and consensus building. In summary, this school has made a profound impact in my life, both personally and academically. I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here and the people I’ve met. I’ll carry the lessons I’ve learned here with me for the rest of my life.
Thank you for giving me the experiences with you. I’d like to leave you guys with this thought: Each of us has the power to make a positive impact on the world around us. It may seem small, but every act of kindness and generosity can have a ripple effect that reaches far beyond what we can imagine. So let us all strive to make a difference in the lives of those around us and to create a better world for the future generation. And once again, it’s a pleasure being a student of this prestigious school.
I am currently at University of Lagos studying medicine.
